Mia Morris – Why U Mad (Official Music Video)

I often write songs & lyrics that I need to hear. Why U Mad is about not letting the things that you can’t control ruin the things that you can. With this video, I tried to portray two versions of myself getting exactly what we asked for from the same day. I’m guilty of being both in the past but I’m trying to be less of one in the future :)

Writing this song started with the verse chords & melody and the lyrics followed. I had a couple of different ideas on how to record & produce this song but finally decided to stay out of the way of the original idea and not worry about where it landed from a genre standpoint. In my opinion, the only two genres that really matter are songs you like, and song you don’t like. I’m pleased with how this one turned out & had a lot of fun making the video.

One of the afternoons I had set aside to shoot, included a lunch with a friend of mine named Bailey James. If you’ve followed me for a long time, you already know Bailey. If not, she is a singer, songwriter and artist here in Nashville that I’ve played for countless times and also written some songs with including, Don’t Get Me Started. I conned her into crashing into me on camera so she’s in the video as well.

I’m 18 years old and I’m a professional musician, songwriter & artist based out of Nashville. I play lots of instruments but the ones that I’m hired to play most often are drums, cajon and bass. I’ve been posting music related videos on YouTube since I was 9 years old and began playing professionally at 14. I’ve always loved music and I’m grateful that it’s also become how I now make a living. This channel started as a combination of my fascination with drums and YouTubers and it’s now turned into a much larger music and music business diary. My goals haven’t changed all that much over the years and stay pretty simple. I’d love to keep making music and hope to keep getting better at it.
